Welcome to my JAK website! Please take your time to enjoy my gallery - I enjoyed creating it!

I have no fancy letters after my name, nor have I competed in any art competitions, but I have been drawing since I was young, and have recently launched myself into the world of painting!

I have spent all my life on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, except for two years that were spent in London and travelling through Europe. This is where I met my lovely French/Swiss husband, and we came back to Australia and made two lovely Aussie/French boys!!

I love Europe, and this is pretty clear through my choice of subject matter in my paintings. My "day job" is teaching French in pre-schools, which I also love, and which leaves my nights and weekends to indulge in my creativity. I have a tendency to create artwork that has a certain oomph (so to speak) - passionate, like flamenco dancers - or stylish, like "Shadow"- or cool, like "Guitar Man". Things that make an impression.

On the other hand, I've always enjoyed working with children, And this led me to create a series of pencil portraits of "Children Around the World."

You will see in the Portrait section of the website some examples of portraits in pastels. This is my favourite field, and the area in which I do the most work. For these I work from your own photos.

So, if you have photos of yourself, your pet, or anyone you love, I can turn it into a lovely pastel portrait. These tend to hold a lot more emotion than photos alone - people often become emotional when they see a portrait of themselves, their children, their family and pets. It always makes a very personal and touching gift.
